Who We Support
While our Grandfather predominately gave to educational institutions, it was our parents who inspired us to expand our Grandfather's vision. Our mother, Winnie B. Atterbury and our father, George R. Atterbury, Jr., had deep community roots in the southeastern suburbs of Philadelphia where we were raised.
Our parents firmly believed in supporting fire departments, police departments, food banks, homeless shelters, and local churches. They passionately spoke of the importance of these organizations to the larger community and taught us how local grassroots organizations support the people who attend and work at educational institutions.
Now as the next generation to continue our Grandfather's vision, we support both local organizations in our communities and national organizations. In the past, we have given to public elementary schools, private high schools, nursery schools, food banks, organizations that employ the homeless, women's shelters, veteran associations, public libraries, small colleges and large universities alike.
